Hospitals and Healthcare

Health Care continues to be an E-J specialty with projects such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Interfaith Hospital, New York Hospital in Queens, DNA Laboratory at Bellevue Hospital, Stamford Hospital, Greenwich Hospital and Mt. Sinai Center for Science and Medicine.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center conducts one of the largest programs of clinical research in the world. Clinical research at the Center combines the efforts of laboratory and clinical investigators in various disciplines and departments to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
E-J Electric’s scope of work included fit out and design of all the laboratory areas, which consisted of installations meeting requirements of bio-safety levels 1, 2 & 3. We installed and assembled the glass wash systems, bedding and sterilizing systems. The 4th floor was designed for MRI and x-ray equipment. While installing this equipment we laid out and prepared areas for phase two development work.

Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and Science

Mt. Sinai School of Medicine’s Multipurpose Building in New York City is an 8-story state-of-the-art Research facility consisting of 4 floors of high-density office space, 10 Laboratory/Research floors and 2 Psychiatric Patient floors. The E-J JFK office then directed the same staff to the new American Airlines billion-dollar terminal. E-J completed all the distribution and the entire building fit out for Terminal C.
E-J was the Core and Shell contractor on the new 70-acre Jet Blue Airlines terminal. As part of the project, we provided power and control wiring for the entire baggage handling system.
Demonstrating the breadth of E-J capabilities and responsibilities are the complete electrical installations for the St. George Ferry Terminal, Korean Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo Warehouse, and the modernization of the Holland Tunnel Vent Buildings in NY and NJ, as well as Delta Airlines at New York’s LaGuardia and JFK International Airports.

The New Yankee Stadium

E-J was proud to be a part of the construction of the brand-new Yankee Stadium. We installed over 15,000 fixtures and over 120 miles of conduit. The new stadium’s design consisted of two separate structures. The exterior is a wall circling the perimeter of the Yankees’ new property and resembles the pre-renovation exterior of the original Yankee Stadium. The interior is a modern ballpark, with increased amenities, that have become a staple of every new ballpark.
The field’s dimensions are identical to those at the prior Yankee Stadium. The new stadium seats approximately 51,000 fans. In addition, there are over 60 luxury boxes between the second level and the upper deck.
E-J’s scope included the fit-out of all lighting and power in the Left Field, Home Plate, and Right Field areas, as well as the Architectural lighting control system and the temporary lighting power systems for the entire project.
